The Jaagriti team thought of celebrating this Diwali in a very joyful and colourful manner and so decided to have a Rangoli Making Competition for the children and volunteers on the day of Diwali.
'Rangoli' signifies creative expression of art by means of colours and is also considered a symbol of good-luck. Rangoli is made on the entrance doors of homes, to welcome guests and goddess Laxmi (the goddess of wealth and fortune).
For the competition, the children were divided into 6 groups of 6 Children each, along with 2 volunteers with each group. They were given 1 hour to complete their Rangoli.
Volunteers: Anchit, Jasraman, Gaurav, Abhishek, Saurabh, Joydeep, Chandan, Manish, Kumkum, Guhan, Ankit and Sneha.
In the end, the Rangoli were judged by Ankit and Kumkum and they selected first, second and third prize winners and one special prize winner.
